During ZIRP, capital was free and investors could throw money at a hundred different speculative startups. Now that the hurdle rate on return is so high, that speculative party is over. Capital has pulled out of "unproven" growth and is looking for a safe haven that still offers a growth strategy. Investors can't afford to wait …
