I'm considering to diversify my portfolio by adding ExxonMobil to it. Stocks appreciation and dividends seems good in the long-run. I'm a long-run holder.
I'm interested in ExxonMobil mainly due to dividends, which are paid at 3-4%.
My question is, is it worth buying ExxonMobil stocks solely for dividend purposes, and is 3-4% a good deal or are there companies offering even higher dividend payments?
I don't want to take huge risk, so should I just buy the stocks with the 3-4% dividend payment and stop trying to find better options that aren't as stable as ExxonMobil and may even fail?
