How to count some VTI/VTSAX relative to asset allocation targeting VOO/VFIAX, VB/VSMAX, VTV/VVIAX?
I have an asset allocation target including various percentages of:
* VOO (VFIAX, S&P 500 index fund)
* VB (VSMAX, Small-Cap index fund)
* VTV (VVIAX, Value index fund)
(along with other non-US-stock and non-stock securities).
My retirement accounts currently reflect that target.
However, I also have some VTI (VTSAX, Total Stock Market Index) in a taxable account.
I don't want to sell that VTI to *actually* reallocate it to VOO, VB, and VTV. (I don't want to trigger capital gains now.)
However, I would like to factor that VTI in to my asset allocation (that is, in my retirement accounts, to reduce each of VOO, VB, and VTV a bit, since VTI overlaps with those (and to increase the other securities correspondingly)).
What percentages of VOO, VB, and VTV is VTI roughly equivalent to?
If I'm not missing something, VTI is equivalent to some amounts of VOO, VB, and VTV, plus some of whatever VTI covers but those three do not. (Right?)
Does anyone here know, or can anyone tell how to find out or compute, the proportion of VOO, VB, VTV, and that uncovered portion?
(Or just: What fractions of the VTI should I consider as counting toward the VOO allocation, the VB allocation, and the VTV allocation? I know it can't be exactly equivalent (since VTI contains things not in funds in my target allocation), I'm just looking for a first-order approximation.)
Thanks.
