Last Friday I had a successful day day trading options on SPY. Scalping.
Today, not so much: the runners kept on running on my puts and things didn’t feel as predictable today as when I did on Friday. Genuinely, SPY just kept climbing and I wasn’t quite ready for that. Perhaps that’s a broader market thing that I should’ve been keeping an open ear towards as well.
My results:
53.5% win rate (slightly less than on Friday)
46.5% lose rate
293 trades
157 wins
136 losses
Average loss percentage: 7.59%
Average win percentage: 5.67%
End of day profit: -$660.66
Are there any patterns you guys look for (like the names of the setup)
Can you guys recommend any software for scalping options trades? Robinhood is cool but I’d look into something I can use on a computer with hotkeys cause I feel like I miss out on a lot simply by trying to press the buttons it’s like 3 steps and can cost $5-$10 each trade easily. And sometimes the trade doesn’t go through because the price has moved that much already.
