Is Fluorspar One of the Most Overlooked U.S. Critical Minerals?

I’ve been looking into companies involved in strengthening the U.S. critical minerals supply chain, and one that stood out to me is CleanTech Vanadium.

While lithium and rare earths tend to dominate the conversation, fluorspar receives far less attention despite being the world’s primary commercial source of fluorine—a material that’s essential across several key industries.
Fluorine plays an important role in:

Nuclear fuel production
Semiconductor manufacturing
Lithium-ion batteries
Industrial chemicals and refrigerants

A few recent updates caught my attention:

The company has launched an 8-hole diamond drilling program at its Campbell-Crotser project in Kentucky, aimed at supporting an initial underground mine plan.

It’s also advancing permitting for both the proposed underground mine and an onsite processing facility.

The project sits within the historic Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District, once one of the United States’ leading sources of fluorspar.

With growing emphasis on securing domestic critical mineral supply chains, I think fluorspar is an overlooked part of the market that’s worth keeping an eye on.
