Anyone looked into shorting the cattle industry with screwworm making a comeback?
It took over 40 years to push them back the first time and the department that did it doesn't even exist anymore. I figure I'll start with the feeder cattle contracts since the parasite targets the newborns first.
Before we eradicated the fly ranchers in the southwest were losing about 1-1.5B a year (in today's money) and that was with much smaller herds then we have now.
The way I see it, we the tax payers have been subsidizing ranchers lifestyles for as long as I have been alive, great chance for us all to make our money back, plus some.
