Last few years have felt a bit slower.
Incremental iPhone updates, Vision Pro still early, and Apple clearly behind in the AI race.
So this transition comes at an interesting time.
John Ternus stepping in feels like a “safe” move.
Deep hardware background, understands the ecosystem well but not exactly a bold reset.
Big question is whether he pushes harder into AI.
If I had to guess…
He leans into on-device AI + Apple Silicon. That’s probably the cleanest way for Apple to evolve without changing its identity too much.
The market reaction so far has been pretty calm.
Small dip, but nothing major and honestly, AAPL price action still looks solid overall. Structure hasn’t really broken.
For now, I still keep my long position open, but if things go otherwise, I won't mind going for a short.
This feels more like evolution than disruption.
But the next phase really depends on how bold they get, especially with AI.
