The common consensus is that the market and the economy are intertwined. In times where prospects are good, the stock market usually rises. When times are bleak, it tends to fall. Over long periods of time the economy grows, and so will the stock market.
However, and especially since COVID, it seems like there has been a disconnect between the stock market and the real economy/fundamentals. P/E ratios have been rising, and the effect of news and earnings on the stock market has generally declined. Especially in the latest weeks, with the entire tariff fiasco, this has become increasingly obvious. Personally, I think a lot of speculative value has generally been added to famous stocks.
Then again, I'm just a twerp on Reddit. What's your thoughts about this? Are we in a bubble?
