My original post on Saber Offshore Corp $SOC is above. Today the Santa Barbara County Supervisors held a vote whether to uphold an appeal to change the ownership of the Santa Ynez project and Sable 'won'. There was tie, 2-2, because the 5th supervisor has to recluse herself because she lives near the pipeline. This is good news for Sable because a tie means the supervisors took no action against the October 2024 transfer of operator’s licenses from XOM to SOC. The Planning Commission’s approval stands, SOC is the SYU operator. reddit user insteadily broke it down for me, "I can’t see anything keeping SOC from finishing repairs, hydrostatic testing, approvals, and pumping oil as announced by April. The CCC is totally and completely tied up in court now that SOC filed suit. They can’t do anything without court approval, and approval of an injunction is an impossibly high bar at this point, plus the cost of a bond. Not gonna happen. There will be oil, and soon."
