Hey r/options,

I just wanted to share a quick update on my trading journey and a bit of a story from the holidays.

* Closed all my short calls for a sweet 99.9% profit today. I couldn’t resist taking those gains off the table!
* Opened new short calls about 2 weeks out—staying on track with my game plan and hopefully keeping the good streak going.
* Added **$1,100 of credit** this morning, aiming for a **4.4% profit** over the next month.
* My account started in **November** last year with **$20k**, and I’m now at **$25k**. Slow and steady (with a few adrenaline rushes) seems to be working.
* It began as a **wheel strategy**, but it’s ended up morphing into a **PMCC** (Poor Man’s Covered Call) approach for more capital efficiency.

But the craziest part was over Christmas:

* I was holding a **short call on X (U.S. Steel)** when I got **assigned**. Naturally, I had to scramble to manage that assignment, especially with all the holiday chaos.
* Then, if that wasn’t enough pressure, there was that news about **U.S. Steel heading to the White House**. Talk about timing… I had to quickly decide how to handle the assigned shares with all the political and market noise swirling around. Let’s just say, that was a good reminder to *always* be prepared for assignment risk—especially when there’s a chance of major headlines.

Overall, the account’s doing well, and I’m excited to see how things progress through the rest of the year. My main goal is still to collect small, consistent premiums, roll when necessary, and try not to get overly greedy or put too much on the line at once.

Feel free to ask any questions or share similar experiences with your own trades. I’m open to hearing any tips or feedback—particularly from those who’ve also had to handle unexpected assignments and big headline risks. Always learning!

The screenshot are my positions, not everything from last year but a subset of it. My target is 3% per month.

Good luck out there, everyone!
